Yes, my first fries blog entry... with many more to come.

Today's entry is from TGIF Beijing.

Straight cut, fat fries, served not too hot in a plate with a dash of black pepper seasoning. Rating 4-4.5 out of 5. The fries are not greasy and not hard, yet moist and firm. Taste of the pepper and light salt brings out the simple country like taste of fresh cut potatoes.

This simple and light dish mirrors the simple proposal that I made to Sylvia today. Yes! We are officially engaged! Nothing fancy and in many ways very tradtional, with going down on one kneww and a dash of flowers. TGIF fries make a very good ending to a simple, light hearted romantic day that brings us to a new stage of our lifes.

omg, i tink i've just discovered the best fries in PEK. will post a review once i take joa there. also, i'm quite sick of fries. the cause cd either be a i've just had too much of it or my hormonal change.

and yes, we'll be moving back home to singapore. how i miss the food. chicken rice!

yes, due to little J, we will be heading back to singapore in a couple of weeks.

As such, we will be looking for the best chips in S'pore and tell u the lovevy dovey stuff along the way

water polo finals

first olympic event. joa got two tickets from his office and we made out way to 英东water sports center to watch the bronze and gold finals. splendid atmosphere and a most unforgettable experience. i managed to get two tickets for the athletics finals at the bird's nest two days after but joa couldn't make it because he was held up at work. i ended up going with a friend.

elephant ankle

joa sprained his ankle during a casual volleyball session with some of our friends. i was sitting by the side, having a chat with a friend when i saw him reach closely to the net and jumped up to catch a ball. he stumbled down, grabbed his ankle and i ignored him for a bit tinking that it was just one of the aftermath of a big action. when he didnt get up for 3 seconds and the guys had gathered around him, i realised something was wrong.

i sent him to the chaoyang hospital where 3 doctors and nurses fussed over him. they were really nice and concerned becos he had come in exercise gear and they thought he must have been an olympic athelete. so

it was quite exasperating when i had to explain that he was playing volleyball and not training volleyball.

all 3 doctors gave separate advices: no pressure for 3 days, apply cold towel for first 3 days and hot tower after, x-ray again if swelling doesn't subside in a week. so he's been at home, hobbling on one leg and practising on his new crutch (S$15), and living on frozen pizzas and cup noodles while i enjoyed myself at a luxury hotel in shenzhen.
